My client is a national law firm operating in the commercial and consumer recoveries market and forms part of a wider professional services group.
The firm delivers end-to-end legal solutions across the credit and collections lifecycle, including litigation, enforcement and insolvency. It advises a broad client base across financial services, lenders and corporates, and has grown its platform through the strategic acquisition of established recoveries teams.
The Team
The Technical Litigation Department is made up of three specialist teams covering mortgage recoveries, unsecured lending and asset-based lending. The team handles complex and non-standard matters outside the routine debt recovery process, including defended return of goods and mortgage possession proceedings, defended money claims, title disputes, satisfactory quality claims, guarantor claims, third-party applications, conversion and innocent purchaser disputes, breach of contract claims and bankruptcy matters.
The Role
The role offers the opportunity to manage a varied and technically challenging caseload while playing a key role in team supervision and client relationship management.
Key responsibilities include:

• Independently managing a complex and defended litigation caseload from initial documentation and issuing through to court attendance where required
• Supervising junior team members and supporting the wider volume teams as needed
• Working closely with clients, managing key relationships and attending review meetings
• Keeping up to date with legal and regulatory developments
• Ensuring compliance with all risk and regulatory requirements
• Maintaining ongoing professional development and completing annual training and eLearning

Skills and Experience

• 2 to 3 years PQE or above, qualified Solicitor or CILEX
• Experience in motor finance and or asset finance recoveries and litigation is desirable
• Commercial mindset with an interest in business and product development
• Strong client service focus with a commitment to delivering innovative solutions
• Comfortable working across different document management systems
• Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
