We are seeking Decision Loggists to play a vital role in supporting the Council&s response during emergencies and major incidents.



As part of our duties under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, we are committed to ensuring that the Council is prepared for emergencies and major incidents, which includes the need to properly record decisions made by the Council and our partner agencies during such events.



If you are interested in getting involved in incident response, are good at record keeping and taking notes in a fast paced environment, and want to further develop your communication skills, then we would like to hear from you.



Training will be provided, and you will be expected to join an out of hours standby duty rota.



To be considered for a Decision Loggist position, please ensure that you have the explicit agreement from your line manager to participate and provide this commitment alongside your substantive post, as you will be expected to support the response to an incident should one occur during office hours.


>Your Role Will Include:




Attending the Council&s Incident Management Team; or Multi-agency Situational Awareness Meetings, Tactical Coordination Group meetings, Strategic Coordination Group meetings or Recovery Coordination Group meetings or any other such events as required by the Council&s senior / strategic leadership Accurately record decisions and the reasoning behind them in real time Maintain clear, factual, and complete records to support future reviews or investigations. Support any command group by recording their justifications for a course of action or decision Take responsibility for following up actions as directed Gather information to aid effective recording of decisions and events as deemed appropriate Ensure information and decisions are recorded of an appropriate quality and completeness to support any subsequent investigation internally/externally Participate in an out of hours standby rota Support the secure storage of logs and associated documentation for use in any future proceedings Establish and maintain effective working relationships with people Develop your own skills to improve performance Communicate your own skills and knowledge to colleagues Take responsibility for personal performance and competency upkeep

Tuesday 10th February 2026. This must be attended in order to join the Decision Loggist Standby Rota from 6th April 2026.
