JOB TITLE: DECK FOREMAN

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

\xc2\xb7 Supports the Deck Coordinator and ensures the safe and efficient operation of deck services in an environment in which statutory operational, safety and environmental policies are fully implemented.

\xc2\xb7 Directly controls the activities of the deck crew, operates\xe2\x80\x99 as the Heli landing officer and has responsibility for the general housekeeping of the platform.

\xc2\xb7 Implementing work schedules prepared by the deck coordinator in a decisive and cost effective manner.

\xc2\xb7 The supervision and direction of the deck workforce including helicopter transit, crane & all lifting operations to achieve the desired objective

\xc2\xb7 Implementation and delegation of maintenance schedules on deck created by the CMMS

\xc2\xb7 Ensuring that all aspects of safety within control are implemented and maintained i.e., adequate personal protective measures are employed and permit to work instructions followed.

\xc2\xb7 Report of all unsafe/substandard conditions

\xc2\xb7 Leading \xe2\x80\x9cTool Box\xe2\x80\x9d talks to maintain levels of safety awareness, particularly covering induction requirements of new personnel

\xc2\xb7 Full working knowledge and application of the facilities Safe System of Work (Permit of Work)

\xc2\xb7 Conduct and record Area Ownership site inspections.

\xc2\xb7 Participation in POWER initiative by completing at least one POWER observation per offshore rotation.

\xc2\xb7 Ensuring duties undertaken in safe and controlled manner relating to crane operations as follows

\xc2\xb7 Ensuring all per-work checks carried out prior to crane operations and logs maintained.

\xc2\xb7 Ensuring that all defects are reported, logged and checks made to ensure repairs are completed satisfactory

\xc2\xb7 The safe and proper operation within the SWL of the unit cranes in line with approved codes of practice and manufacture\xe2\x80\x99s guidelines

\xc2\xb7 Close liaison with the maintenance personnel when engineering lifts are required to maximize safety and to ensure the efficient use to manning resources.

\xc2\xb7 Ensuring duties are coordinated and undertaken in a safe and controlled manner relating to HLO and HDA\xe2\x80\x99s as follows.

\xc2\xb7 Advising helicopter pilots by radio of deck clearance and situations regarding crane working for their consideration prior to landing

\xc2\xb7 Applying the conditions laid down in company procedures and is aware of the impact on aircraft movement relating to Limited Radio Silence/crane operations.

\xc2\xb7 Heli-ops company procedures

\xc2\xb7 Safe conduct of personnel to and from helideck

\xc2\xb7 Operations and maintenance of helideck firefighting monitor\xe2\x80\x99s emergency crash-box

\xc2\xb7 Monitor the condition of the firefighting suits and helideck netting and ensure the tension is to HSE requirements.

\xc2\xb7 Monitor helideck lighting and overall condition of the deck.

\xc2\xb7 Conferring with Deck Coordinator in the event of conflict of interest due to weather etc. re-personnel movement/airfreight uplift

\xc2\xb7 Overseeing passengers correctly dressing for helicopter transport and baggage equipment/material is loaded correctly.

\xc2\xb7 Direct supervision of helideck crew, ensuring they are competent in all helideck procedures e.g. firefighting, medivac, cassava procedures and give help and direction of Transit Clerk duties

\xc2\xb7 Assisting the supervisor during emergency exercises concerning helicopter evacuation or acting as directed by the OIM.

\xc2\xb7 Ensuring duties undertaken in safe and controlled manner relating to the responsible Competent Person Lifting (CPL) in overall charge of lifting operations on the installation or worksite

\xc2\xb7 Produce and assess lifting plans.

\xc2\xb7 Produce lifting Operation Certificates

\xc2\xb7 Carry out relevant risk assessment.

\xc2\xb7 Conduct toolbox talks.

\xc2\xb7 If required supervise the lifting operations

\xc2\xb7 Rigger loft operated and controlled in accordance with company procedures.

\xc2\xb7 Lifting equipment examiner

\xc2\xb7 Compilation and maintenance of comprehensive and accurate logs

\xc2\xb7 Delivery of effective handovers at shift change

\xc2\xb7 Accurate and complete handovers at the completion of the offshore rotation.

\xc2\xb7 Full working knowledge of the facilities Safe System of Work (Permit to Work)

\xc2\xb7 Computer literacy, maintaining good verbal and written communication with team and supervision.

\xc2\xb7 Training of other to carry out duties and routines.

\xc2\xb7 Supervision through stages of competence (Rigger and Lifting, Banksman Slinger, Crane Operations) to a level where personnel can be assessed as competent by a third party assessment process

\xc2\xb7 In the event of installation emergencies will be required to fulfil an emergency role with one of the Installation Emergency Response Teams (Fire Team Member/Leader, Helideck Crew, and Coxswain)

\xc2\xb7 Health & Safety

\xc2\xb7 Complies with all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements

\xc2\xb7 Actively participate in constituency safety meetings, group meetings, risk assessments, toolbox talks etc.

\xc2\xb7 Is an active member of the emergency response team (ERT) and maintain a fitness level to achieve Ithaca\xe2\x80\x99s ERT standard

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

\xc2\xb7 Relevant years of experience in an offshore environment and be trained and assessed in accordance with recognized industry standards such as NSL-EAL, Opito, ECITB or equivalent.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to carry out level 2 risk assessments, prepare Lifting Operations Certificates with ISSOW, produce/assess lifting plans and conduct toolbox talks.

\xc2\xb7 Carry out audits on the lifting plans and Lifting Operations Certificates contained ISSOW

\xc2\xb7 Opito Stage 3, NSL EAL level 2 in Banksman/Slinger or equivalent

\xc2\xb7 and/or Opito Stage 3, NSL-EAL level 2, SVQ/NVQ in Rigging & Lifting or equivalent

\xc2\xb7 OPITO certified Helicopter Landing Officer

\xc2\xb7 Dangerous Goods by Air certification (IATA)

\xc2\xb7 Ithaca specific

\xc2\xb7 Relevant experience in either onshore or offshore oil and gas industry or candidates with significant experience in similar onshore Hazardous Industries such as continuous processes petrochemical, nuclear or power generation

\xc2\xb7 The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and apply it in the workplace.

\xc2\xb7 Previous experience in use of SAP or similar CMMS preferred.
