Serco is looking for Deck Rating-Maritime North - OOP Operations. The purpose of the AB is to act as the main labour force on board their appointed vessel. An AB will carry out a range of duties in the task of assisting in the safe operation of the vessel or the handling of its cargo.
Main Accountabilities:
Berthing/Slipping of the Vessel.
Ship Husbandry Tasks.
Ship Operational Tasks.
Cleaning Tasks as directed.
Drive/operate deck machinery including cranes.
Assist in repair and routine planned maintenance of ship's equipment.
Machinery care, routine maintenance and lubrication
To be fully conversant with the use of all safety equipment, emergency procedures and contingency plans.
Aware of the company Safety Management System- specifically:
Permit to Work/Tag Out Systems
Shipboard Management Team
Shipboard Safety Committee
Be familiar with safety routines and ensure necessary safeguards are in place before any maintenance/repair work commences.
Watch duties including navigational look-out and gangway watch

STCW Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft (5 Year Refresher Course)
