About the Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Deli and Cafe Manager to lead our team and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the delI and cafe. This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone who loves good food, thrives in a busy retail or hospitality environment, and takes pride in excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Management: Recruit, train, and motivate a small team to deliver exceptional service.
Customer Experience: Work on the deli counter, ensuring every customer enjoys a warm, knowledgeable, and efficient service.
Order Fulfilment: Oversee customer and wholesale orders, ensuring they are prepared and dispatched accurately and on time.
Shift Organisation: Create and manage weekly rotas to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
Administration: Handle emails, place supplier orders, maintain records, and support general office tasks.
Shop Operations: Open and close the shop, manage cashing up, and maintain high presentation and hygiene standards throughout.
Stock & Suppliers: Monitor stock levels, place and receive deliveries, and help maintain supplier relationships.
Requirements
Previous experience in deli retail or hospitality management is essential.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
A proactive, hands-on approach and positive attitude.
Ability to manage and motivate a small team effectively.
Basic computer and admin skills (email, spreadsheets, ordering systems).
A genuine love of cheese and good food is essential!
