Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Deli Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of fresh deli products, ensuring high standards of food safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a dynamic retail environment, contributing to a positive shopping experience for our customers. The shift will be from 12-4 each day across the week. There will be opportunities for extra hours to cover holidays

Responsibilities

Prepare a range of deli products, including slicing meats, cheeses, and assembling sandwiches according to company standards Serve customers in a courteous and professional manner, providing excellent customer service Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli counter and work area in compliance with food safety regulations Restock deli items as needed, ensuring product freshness and availability Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during food preparation Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and recording supplies used Upsell additional products to maximise sales opportunities while maintaining a friendly approach

Skills

Experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant or catering environment is desirable Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices Basic maths skills for handling transactions and portioning products accurately Previous kitchen or culinary experience is advantageous Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods Ability to serve customers with professionalism and enthusiasm Upselling skills to promote additional products effectively Good organisational skills to keep work areas clean and well-stocked
