Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Deli Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of deli products, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Responsibilities

Prepare a range of deli items including sandwiches, salads, and hot food items accordance with company standards Serve customers courteously, taking orders and providing product recommendations through upselling techniques Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli counter and surrounding area Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to, including proper storage and handling of perishable goods Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Restock deli displays as needed to ensure product availability throughout the shift Manage cash register operations accurately during transactions Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or expiry dates

Experience

Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant service is essential Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous Experience with serving customers in a fast-paced environment is desirable Basic maths skills are necessary for handling transactions and portion control Kitchen or culinary experience will be considered an asset Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods Ability to upsell products confidently to maximise sales opportunities
