Overview

The work days for this job role are Saturday 8am-5pm, Sunday 9am-4pm, During Christmas week you'll be required to work additional hours to support the business.

As a Deli Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving Deli products. Your responsibilities will include food preparation, cooking pies and pastries, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring a clean and organised work environment. You will be the face of our deli, helping customers with their selections and enhancing their shopping experience.

Duties

Assist customers by providing information about deli products and helping them make selections. Prepare a variety of food items according to established recipes and food safety guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and sanitised. Monitor food quality and freshness, discarding any items that do not meet our standards. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to health and safety regulations. Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours. Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products to customers.

Qualifications

Previous experience on a Deli is preferred but not essential. Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable. Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A friendly and approachable demeanour with excellent communication skills to assist customers effectively. Ability to work well within a team as well as independently when required.
