Overview

We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Deli Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing a variety of deli foods, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Shift working times

04.00-12.00 Morning Shift

12.00-20.00 Back shift

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a range of deli products, including sandwiches, salads, and cold cuts, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met Assist customers with their orders in a courteous and professional manner Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, adhering to food safety regulations Restock supplies and organise display counters to ensure attractive presentation Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during food preparation Upsell products to maximise sales opportunities while providing excellent customer service Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service Follow all health and safety guidelines to uphold hygiene standards within the store

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant or catering environment is desirable Knowledge of food safety standards and practices Basic maths skills for handling transactions and portion control Experience with serving customers in a fast-paced setting is advantageous Familiarity with kitchen equipment and culinary techniques is preferred Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
