Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic team member to join our growing business. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Deli Associate, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality deli products while ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Your role will involve working closely with team members to create a welcoming environment for customers and supervising the day-to-day operational management of the store.

We are looking for a multi-skilled worker who is comfortable serving in the front of house and also supporting the kitchen when necessary. Full training will be provided in both roles but prior experience is desired.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble deli items, including sandwiches, salads, and other food products to meet customer orders. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the shop area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and sanitised daily. Monitor food safety practices to ensure compliance with health regulations. Assist customers by providing excellent service, answering questions about menu items, and making recommendations. Collaborate with team members to ensure products are well stocked throughout the day. Supervise junior staff as needed, providing guidance and support in food preparation and service. Manage inventory levels, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and available for daily operations.

Experience

Previous experience in food preparation or culinary roles is highly desirable. Experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is beneficial. Supervising or team management experience is an advantage. Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is essential. Familiarity with kitchen operations and food production processes will be advantageous.
