We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver/Goods In Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting a variety of gardening goods efficiently and safely to various local locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and customer service. The position involves operating commercial vehicles and maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism throughout the delivery process. Goods In Assistant. This role is vital to the smooth running of the centre, ensuring stock is received, checked, and distributed efficiently to support our retail teams and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Working 4 days per week Tuesday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm

Responsibilities

Safely operate company vans to deliver goods to our customers. Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimise time. Load and unload items, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly during transit. Communicate effectively with our customers upon delivery, providing excellent customer service at all times Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs. Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly. Adhere strictly to traffic laws and health & safety regulations at all times. Receiving, checking, and processing deliveries in line with company procedures Ensuring stock is accurately recorded, labelled, and stored correctly Distributing stock to departments across the centre in a timely manner Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised goods-in area Assisting with stock movement, including lifting and handling heavy items Supporting other departments as required during busy periods

Qualifications

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving commercial driving. Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record. Experience with warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting when required, demonstrating physical fitness. Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively. Knowledge of local roads and navigation systems is preferred.
