Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to handle heavy lifting as part of daily operations. The ideal candidate will possess experience in commercial driving and have a strong understanding of warehouse procedures.

Duties

Operate a van or lorry to deliver goods to designated locations efficiently and safely. Load and unload products, ensuring that all items are handled with care to prevent damage. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain accurate delivery logs and records, including any discrepancies or issues encountered during deliveries. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any changes. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving. Assist in the warehouse as needed, including inventory management and organisation of stock. Check to ensure the order is correct and checked at customer store. If any items short upon delivery - to follow procedure. Collect payment if required.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or Van Driver is preferred. Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during loading and unloading of goods. Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively. Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics is a plus. A proactive attitude towards safety and compliance with all regulations.
