We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Driver with a Driver's Mate to join our team. In this role, you will both assist in delivering goods to various locations while ensuring that all items are handled with care. You both will be responsible for heavy lifting and ensuring that deliveries are made efficiently and safely. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic environment and have a keen interest in logistics and transportation.
Responsibilities
Assist the driver with loading and unloading goods from the vehicle
Ensure that all deliveries are made on time and in accordance with company standards
Communicate effectively with the driver to coordinate delivery routes
Perform checks on the vehicle and delivery site to ensure it is roadworthy
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the delivery vehicle
Handle heavy lifting of goods, ensuring proper lifting techniques are used
Support warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management
Experience
Previous experience as a Driver or as a Driver's Mate or in a similar role is advantageous
Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics processes is preferred
A valid driving licence is beneficial, particularly for van driving experience
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and customers
Experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is a plus
