Freedom Bakery is a Scottish artisan bakery putting a creative twist on baking and a social conscience into our business. We are a social enterprise that believes that people at risk of committing crime can benefit significantly from professional training and employment opportunities. We are a small team of 12 friendly people working together to bake great bread and help people get equipped for careers in the food industry.
DESCRIPTION:
Freedom Bakery operates a wholesale business supplying businesses in the Glasgow area. We are seeking a delivery driver to join the team to help us with the logistics of delivering bread and pastries daily to our customers. The Delivery Driver is a paramount role to us as they are the only customer facing team member and need to have good people skills. This role might be best suited to current couriers or delivery drivers seeking extra work and/or someone nearing retirement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Covering deliveries from Tuesday to Sunday to our wholesale customers, starting at 6.00am. Delivery runs run approximately, but are not restricted to, the following times:
Tuesday 6.00 - 12.00
Wednesday 6.00 - 12.00
Thursday 6.00 - 12.00
Friday 6.00 - 12.00
Saturday 6.00 - 12.00
Sunday 6.00 - 12.00
Double checking orders are packed correctly.
Directing any customer requests to the bakery office as and when this comes up i.e. Not to handle a customer's queries directly nor take orders for deliveries.* To work as part of a team to always do the best for our customers and colleagues.
Covering a small amount of logistics-based admin including weekly updating of daily routes, organising delivery notes and working towards a more efficient logistics system particularly as we expand our business.
The post holder will be responsible for providing route information to substitute drivers whilst on leave.
Keeping the Company vehicle clean internally and externally.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:
The driver will be required to hold a clean UK drivers' licence.
Time keeping is optimum.
A good driving knowledge of Glasgow is helpful.
An enthusiastic, friendly and polite approach to teammates and customers.
