Job Description

Thermac is one of the UK's leading suppliers' of hazardous equipment and consumables. Thermac hires and sells equipment; services equipment, manufactures equipment and offers RPE face fitting. Employing around 40 people across several branches, operating out of an expansive national office / depot network and working with blue-chip clients across a wide range of public and private UK industrial sectors.

Overall purpose of the role:



The Delivery driver is responsible for the efficient delivery and collection of goods, service and hire orders across the UK on behalf of Thermac. Ensuring deliveries are punctual, all paperwork and documentation is up to date and accurate and any hire equipment damages are identified promptly. Responsible for safe and courteous driving, vehicle maintenance, loading restrictions and planning routes efficiently. The delivery driver is also responsible for providing excellent customer service.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:



To arrange the most efficient logistical deliveries and collections possible to customers and branch To remain compliant with relevant tachograph drive times and legal requirements where required To ensure all paperwork and system updates (driver app) are up to date and accurate Loading and unloading at both customer sites and back at branch In busy periods order picking and packing in preparation for future deliveries To ensure all hire equipment is inspected and any damage recorded and photographed at time of collection To ensure all collections are compliant with asbestos regulations and deviations are flagged to line manager promptly To ensure daily vehicle checks, loadings, and vehicle maintenance are completed, recorded and issues reported to line manager promptly To ensure company procedure is followed for any road traffic accidents or incidents To communicate with customers regarding expected arrival times and unexpected delays To build and maintain excellent relationships with customers ensuring you are a positive ambassador for the Thermac brand To carry out any other appropriate duties as requested by Senior Management

To participate in any communication activities through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas. To ensure that the Thermac safety image is reflected positively through your actions To ensure that you have received the necessary training so that you can competently carry out your duties and responsibilities. To acknowledge and accept a personal responsibility for safety. To take responsibility for ensuring that plant and equipment within your remit is maintained and fit for purpose. To readily raise any concerns over Health & Safety breaches in accordance with Company Procedure

Critical Performance Measures (CPM's/Objectives)



To route plan effectively minimising fuel and drive time To drive in a safe and courteous manner minimising risk of road traffic accidents To carry out daily vehicle checks minimising vehicle issues and/or breakdowns To work towards zero customer complaints for poor service To ensure all paperwork is accurate, up to date and submitted promptly To ensure compliance with the driver app and booking work through syrinx To ensure there is no deviation from safety, compliance or legalities when collecting equipment used in an asbestos environment To ensure all damage charges are identified by photograph immediately upon collection of hire equipment and sent through to the sales teams for billing To ensure all safety issues, accidents and/or near misses are reported

Experience/Qualifications required:



Multi drop experience Able to drive a 3.5 Tonne van Full clean driving licence Towing qualification Self-motivated but also willing to work as part of a team Experience working to deadlines IT Literate Strong customer focus Hands on approach and a "can do" attitude High standard of work ethic Friendly and approachable
