Are you a reliable and experienced delivery driver looking for a stable role in a fast-paced food logistics operation?
We are seeking a
Delivery Driver
to join our team based in
Newry (Northern Ireland, United Kingdom)
. You'll be responsible for the
timely delivery of chilled, short shelf-life products
such as sandwiches, wraps, and platters to customers while ensuring product quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
You'll play a key role in maintaining high delivery standards and supporting smooth daily operations across the business.
Duties
As a Delivery Driver, you'll be responsible for:
Delivering chilled short shelf-life products (e.g. sandwiches, wraps, platters) to customers in
Newry and surrounding areas
on time and in excellent condition.
Performing
daily vehicle inspections
before and after routes, reporting any maintenance or repair needs (including tyres) to the supervisor.
Loading and unloading products at the depot/manufacturing facility and customer locations safely and efficiently.
Maintaining responsibility for the care, cleanliness, and maintenance of the company delivery van.
Keeping accurate delivery logs and completing all required paperwork for each route.
Adhering to all
Health & Safety
regulations while in the warehouse, on the road, and at customers' premises.
Ensuring
fitness to drive
at all times and strict adherence to scheduled delivery times.
Working closely with the
Transport Supervisor
to ensure smooth and timely deliveries.
Communicating effectively with warehouse staff and customers to maintain efficient operations.
Skills / Requirements
Previous delivery driving experience
is preferred; experience in the
food industry
is also preferred.
A
valid driving licence
with no more than
three penalty points
, and entitlement to drive up to a
3.5 tonne vehicle
.
Good knowledge of
local routes
in and around Newry.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while following company procedures.
Must have the
Right to Work in the UK
.
Work Schedule
Start Time:
2:00 AM
Working Hours:
5 days per week, 40 hours (excluding a 30-minute break)
