Job Overview

We are a small family run group of businesses manufacturing, delivering and/or installing furniture for the home, usually within a 50-mile radius of Carlisle.

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team and provide general support in other areas of the business, such as help in the workshop and remote teams installations. Most of our products are timber made furniture and some joinery experience would be helpful, although not essential, as training will be given to help you perform to the highest standards.

The normal working hours are 8.00 - 16.30 but can vary dependant on the schedule and locality on the actual day of work.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for loading/unloading of your vehicle and getting yourself to and from each delivery point in a timely manner. We will provide a long wheelbase van which can be driven on a standard license. You will be responsible for the daily maintenance and safety checks.

Our vehicle insurers require a full standard license with no disqualifications within the last 5 years.

Duties

Operate a delivery van to transport goods efficiently and safely. Load and unload items, ensuring proper handling of materials to prevent damage. Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure the van is in good working condition. Navigate routes using GPS or maps, adhering to traffic regulations at all times. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including documentation of any discrepancies or issues encountered during transport. Assist in the workshop as needed

Experience

Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred. Some joinery experience would be helpful, although not essential. Experience in heavy lifting and manual handling techniques is advantageous. Strong communication skills are necessary for interacting with customers and team members effectively. A valid driving licence minimum 5 years with a clean driving record minimum 5 years is required
