Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Full-Time Driver to join our team at our production facility. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering fresh, high-quality food products to our stores in a refrigerated vehicle. The ideal candidate will be reliable, proactive, and possess a strong work ethic. You will also play an important role in supporting the production team during the morning hours before your delivery shift.

Responsibilities:

Work in the unit before beginning deliveries, assisting with food preparation, packing, and maintaining cleanliness in the production areas. Prepare deliveries, ensuring that food products are properly loaded, stored, and ready for transportation. Safely operate a refrigerated vehicle to deliver food products to stores. Ensure deliveries are made in a timely and safe manner, following all traffic laws and company procedures. Be flexible with work hours, which may start as early as 6:00 AM, and may change based on delivery schedules. Support the production team in maintaining food safety standards and helping out with various unit tasks during the morning shift (work hours may start at 8:00 AM). Assist in any other duties as required by the team.
Qualifications:

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required. A clean valid driving licence is essential Strong time management skills and the ability to adapt to varying start times and shift hours. Willingness to contribute to both production and delivery tasks as part of the team. Good physical health to handle manual tasks. Positive attitude, team-oriented, and willing to go the extra mile when needed.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday (work hours may vary). Flexible start times, with the possibility of starting deliveries as early as 6:00 AM. The role will be based at our current Spark Hill location, transitioning to our new state-of-the-art warehouse in Smethwick (five-minute walk from The Hawthorns train station).

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires excellent driving skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to handle heavy lifting as needed.

Duties



Operate delivery vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Load and unload goods from the vehicle, ensuring items are secured and protected during transit. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery times and any issues encountered. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any changes. Assist with warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management and organisation of goods. Handle heavy lifting of packages or materials when required, ensuring proper lifting techniques are used.

Qualifications



Previous experience as a delivery driver is preferred. Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record; experience with driving is mandatory. Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and practices is beneficial. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members. Experience in a warehouse environment is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) and stand for extended periods.
