To maximise the sales potential of the trust's Charity Shops by providing a prompt efficient and courteous delivery and collection service, which at all times promotes the image and aims of the trust.
Duties:
1. To provide a collection and delivery service for donated goods offered for sale through our furniture store.
2. To carry out other driving duties as required in connection with the trust's work.
3. To keep vehicles, clean and tidy and monitor fuel, oil water etc. ensuring the vehicle is always roadworthy and advise on routine and specific servicing, as necessary.
4. Supervise any volunteers who may help on the vehicle or drive from time to time, including correct lifting, with equipment where necessary; use of seatbelts; no smoking; adherence to the highway code.
5. Be courteous and respectful at all times to staff, volunteers and members of the public.
6. Adhere to the daily instructions given by the Store Manager including the number of collections/pickups which have been arranged
7. Implement the gift aid procedure and therefore ensuring all donations are gift aided where appropriate
8. Carry out reasonable tasks assigned by Store Manager including helping on the shop floor when required.
Requirements:
1. A full clean driving license.
2. Must be over the age of 25
3. The position requires a high level of physical fitness involving the movement of furniture, white goods, sacks of clothing etc.
4. To be able to maintain a flexible approach to patterns of work.
5. Must be able to deal with customers in a manner which is appropriate to the aims of the charity.
6. Be of smart appearance, dress appropriately including protective footwear.
Limits of authority:
1. To ensure that the aims and objects of the Trust are not compromised by any actions.
2. Ensure the vehicle is only used for the work of the charity.
3. Fuel will only be purchased at approved petrol stations.
4. To operate within the law.
5. Not to communicate any information concerning the Trust to the media without prior approval of the director, or in his absence, one of the trustees.
Conditions:
Pay 12.44 per hour per hour, hours to be negotiated with successful candidate.

Holidays - 28 days per calendar year (inclusive of bank holidays), may be taken at agreed times.
