Job Description
Based in Helston, the job involves collecting and delivering luggage for walkers and cyclists around Cornwall.
In a normal year, we handle over 20,000 bags between March and October providing transfers throughout the South West of England through a network of employed and self employed drivers. Hours are normally 4-8 hours per day dependant on workload and we operate 7 days per week. Drivers usually visit between 15-30 addresses over the course of the day delivering and collecting luggage.
We are looking for 1 x driver who are able to work a mix of both weekdays & weekends. Days will be set and will be confirmed once we've met and discussed availability.
Example:
Driver: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday
You will be expected to drive one of our vehicles, which are based in Helston.
You will be provided with a list of collection/drop off locations routed around Cornwall. The first collection is 9.00am and deliveries are made back to back and are usually completed no later than 4.30pm. Luggage items may weigh up to 25 kilos, and you are required to collect and deliver to accommodations, not always with parking immediately outside. Most deliveries are door to door, but on occasions you may need to climb stairs or deliver to rooms.
A driving licence is essential, and the ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be polite, professional and friendly with the ability to work under pressure during peak times. Branded polo shirts will be supplied.
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6-8 months
Pay: 12.50 per hour
