Delivery Driver at BLAKES MEATS

This role is Mon-Sat (40 hours over 5 days)

The role of the driver is a critical role to the service delivery to our customers. As the driver you are the regular face of Blakes to the customer, so it is critical that the expected levels of professionalism are upheld at all times, including courtesy, appearance and communication with the customer. The main tasks will include, but not be limited to:

Checking and loading of the customers orders onto the vans in an orderly fashion to ensure efficient delivery at customer

Receive and keep delivery tickets and invoices along with goods ready for delivery

Delivery of goods to customers in a timely and professional manner

Handing invoices to customers and checking off order at customer site and ensuring satisfaction with products delivered

Communicating any issues with payments to Accounts Department and Operations Team Leader

Communicating any disputes with customers prior to leaving orders to ensure acceptance of delivery

Communicating with customers any orders that are likely to be late due to unforeseen circumstances

Pick up returns and complete necessary paperwork and deliver them back to the depot and confirm returns to the Operations Team Leader

Report any damage or maintenance requirements of vehicle to Operations Team Leader

Perform heavy lifting tasks as needed during loading and unloading processes

Ensure vehicles are in good working order, clean and presentable on a daily basis

Ensure professional appearance including personal hygiene and correct attire

Providing support within depot as and when required, including keeping areas tidy to support deport operations prior to leaving the deport for daily deliveries

Qualifications:

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver is preferred.
- Ability to handle physical demands including heavy lifting.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers.
- Knowledge of van driving techniques and routes in the area preferable.
