Job Description

This Driving / Sales Assistant role is with a family run business who have Decorating Centres across South Wales and the South West. We supply decorating products to members of the public, professional decorators, contractors, local authorities and other public bodies.

The successful candidate will:

Have a full driving licence and able to drive a delivery van. Be able to offer very high level of customer service. Have retail or trade experience- Experience in the paint industry or a trade counter environment is preferable although not essential. Be able to engage with customers and attend to their needs with ease. Be willing to learn and keen to develop their knowledge and skill base.
Main Responsibilities:

Customer deliveries in company vehicle. Preparing for deliveries, picking products and booking products in/out. Assisting with customer sales and helping customers in store. Mixing paint. Handling cash/Operating the tills. Stocking shelves/Ordering stock. Merchandising the store and much more.

We are therefore seeking individuals who are friendly, flexible and committed to being a valuable member of the team.

Opening hours for the store are 7.00am-5.00pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am to 4.00pm on Saturdays. Contracted hours will be between 25-30 hours Monday to Friday and Saturdays will be worked as overtime and organised on a rota basis.

It is worth noting that full time staff are awarded 33 days annual leave from the very onset- which is more than the national average and any part-time staff's leave is calculated pro rata based on this figure.
