ORDER DELIVERY DRIVER

P&R Wholesale has been owned by the Goss family for over 25 years and continues to serve a substantial and loyal customer base within a 30 miles radius of its shop in Newry. We stock a large variety of car parts, car accessories and car products. Our client base ranges from independent garages to individuals and car enthusiasts. Order Delivery Driver - Role Purpose

The order delivery drivers at P&R play a key role in our business. Not only are they responsible for ensuring efficient and timely delivery of products to our customers but they are ambassadors for our business and need to present the company in a professional and friendly manner to protect our reputation. This role is fast-paced, and the successful candidate will be required to complete three runs on four routes on a daily basis.

Key Duties

Order picking and loading of parts deliveries to customers in line with an effective journey plan. Check that all paperwork is present.

Leaving the despatch and yard area clean and tidy and free from rubbish before departing

Ensure that all relevant paperwork is effectively completed during and after the delivery process and filed in the correct manner.

Completion of paperwork related to returns and product warranty

Storage of paperwork in an organised manner during the delivery schedule

Collection of cash from some customers

Maintaining the van in a clean and orderly manner and ensuring that it is washed regularly to maintain a professional appearance for our customers. Report any issues particularly in relation to roadworthiness to the operations manager.

Talking to our customers about their orders if necessary and looking for opportunities to promote the P&R business.

Taking care of products/deliveries as if they were your own property.

Be a responsible driver and be aware that your behaviour and the van are a representation of the P&R business.

Work as part of the wider team including warehouse, shop, and office personnel.

Be proactive in highlighting any business improvement processes to the operations manager.

Any other duties that are important to the business needs will be assigned

Essential Criteria

For insurance purposes applicants must be +21 years old

A valid UK/EU/EEA Full Driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.

Eligibility to work in the UK

Good level of spoken and written English

Desirable

Good knowledge of the Newry and Mourne area although full journey plan training will be given. Good knowledge of or keen interest in motor parts
