A dual role incorporating customer faces delivery duties,warehouse tasks and delivery across our wide Estate to all our key departments.



Our Delivery drivers provide Wholesale and Home delivery services to our customers in the local Somerset area. You will be delivering bakery and chilled wholesale orders to business customers as well as orders to customer homes. Warehouse duties include picking,good receipt and putaway,delivery to all parts of the Estate. You will get to know all the key areas of The Newt in Somerset including the Hotels,restaurants,retail shops and visitor attractions.



Relationships with our customers and promotion of our brand is key part of this role so an outgoing and personable character is required. Deliveries will be in the local region around The Newt in Somerset near Bruton with Wholesale deliveries made in time for the business customers to open so would require a 5am start time and operate 7 days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Delivery to business addresses leaving safe in their chosen location and accessing the business using keys and alarm codes Delivery of customer orders using our branded vans Delivery to the customers chosen location in their home or left safe in a secure and safe place at their delivery address Order checking and final order packing Daily van safety checks Food Safety temperature checks of orders at the loading point and throughout the delivery day Use of route planning software to follow delivery route plans,provide live tracking info of arrival time and capture proof of delivery Interactions with the customers to enhance their shopping experience and promote The Newt in Somerset brand Picking,packing,goods receipt,housekeeping and inventory checks in the Warehouse Delivery to all Estate departments - unloading,carrying to the delivery location (kitchen,stock room,etc) nand checking off deliveries with the receiving team Logistics services across the Estate for Events,equipment moves and seasonal activities (summer to winter changes,etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Full clean driving license - licensed to drive vehicles upto 3,500kg 2+ years delivery experience a benefit 2+ years customer service experience 2+ years warehouse experience a benefit Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to communicate with customers and colleagues Experience with route planning/phone based application software a benefit Food Safety certification including allergens a benefit and would be required after training * Able to lift upto maximum of 16kg per item
