We are looking for a hard-working Delivery Driver/Warehouse Operative to join us FULL -TIME at our Headquarters and distribution centre in Greenock, as part of our warehouse operations team.

Job Summary:

The Delivery Driver/Warehouse Operative will support the warehouse operations by performing a variety of tasks including receiving products, storing the products, arranging for the dispatch of products and delivering products which includes multi-drops to customers and other branches in a timely and professional manner. The role requires an individual who is organised, can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

Driving Duties

Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries. Conduct routine checks, such as checking oil level and tyre pressure, to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition. Report any concerns to the Warehouse Manager. Load and unload goods from the vehicle, while always complying with safe working practices. Provide excellent customer service by delivering goods in a friendly and professional manner. Maintain accurate delivery records and handle delivery paperwork as required. Safely and efficiently operate a vehicle to deliver goods to customers. Adhere to all road safety laws while driving. Undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the role as requested by the Warehouse Manager and any other members of management.

Warehouse Duties

Unload, inspect, and verify incoming products against packing lists and purchase orders. Record and report discrepancies or damages to products to the Warehouse Manager. Organise and store products in the designated locations within the warehouse. Pick and prepare orders for dispatch according to customer requirements. Ensure all orders are accurate and properly labelled. Load products onto delivery vehicles safely and efficiently. Ensure goods returned are returned into stock accurately by following the return goods procedures. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in the warehouse. Perform routine maintenance checks on warehouse equipment and report any issues. Comply with all Health & Safety procedures and policies and undertake any mandatory training Use warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and responsibly, Follow all safety guidelines and procedures relating to the use of operating plant machinery, such as packaging machinery. Complete necessary paperwork and documentation for warehouse operations. Use warehouse management systems to track inventory and orders. Ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse by adhering to Company policies and procedures. Contribute actively as a member of the warehouse staff team, working towards developing and improving the operation of the warehouse.

Person Specification

A good standard of education including being IT literate and numerate. Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is essential. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role would be an advantage. A valid UK driving license with a clean driving record is essential. Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is an advantage. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organisational and time management skills. Physical ability to perform manual handballing of products. Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse management systems. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
