Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient delivery driver & warehouse operative to join our small, customer-focused team in our brand new sheet material and timber distribution unit based in NG2 Nottingham.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution centre by performing various tasks related to the handling, storage, distribution and delivery of goods. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Working Hours

7:30-5pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays)

Duties

Drive delivery van Load and unload goods from delivery vehicles, ensuring items are handled safely and efficiently. Organise and maintain inventory within the warehouse, including proper storage techniques. Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks Assist with order picking and packing for deliveries, ensuring accuracy in fulfilling customer requests. Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies to management. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations. Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding inventory levels and operational issues.

Qualifications

Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided. Delivery driver experience or a valid driving licence is essential Experience with commercial driving is a plus for candidates operating larger vehicles. Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) as required by the role. Strong communication skills to facilitate teamwork and operational efficiency. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and maintaining productivity levels in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: 24,420.00-36,932.58 per year
