Main Responsibilities

The main duties of this role are to load and unload goods from the delivery vehicle and to deliver those items on schedule to the correct locations. This role requires someone who is dependable, punctual, and possess excellent customer service skills. This role will involve making deliveries to multiple sites over usually no more than 2 days at a time, so will include overnight stopovers for the postholder. Experience with commercial driving (driving 3.5 tonne box vans) and working in a warehouse environment would be an advantage.

Operational Duties:

Drives safely and follow all laws and rules of driving to maintain a safe and healthy work environment Ensure deliveries are made on time and to the correct location Moving and lifting heavy items in and out of van Use the warehouse computerised system to pick and pack orders of stair parts using handheld devices and computers Use of computerised system on mobile device whilst off site making deliveries Use of other small electronic equipment e.g. satellite navigation system and dash cams Keeps company vehicle clean and ensure it is well-maintained, has fuel, oil and is ready to drive Maintains communication with management and informs management of any obstructions to making safe, efficient deliveries on time Represents the Company to customers outside the company premises Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to worksheets Receive and process warehouse stock products (unload, label, store) Report any discrepancies to Warehouse Supervisor or Company Director Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimise space utilisation Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
Person Specification. Types of experience and specific knowledge required for this role:

An experienced van driver. (21+ due to insurance limitations) Good customer service skills. It is essential that you have good communication skills. You will be a fully competent driver with no more than 3 points on your license. You will be expected to travel to certain points within in the UK.
