What to expect
The DMO Team Leader is accountable for providing the services that are defined in the DMO Services Catalogue and for providing 1st line assurance. The DMO Team Leader will act as the 'eyes and ears' of both the Delivery Director and the Head of Portfolio Controls, ensuring that project controls and standards are being correctly applied in their assigned delivery area. The DMO Team Leader will line manage and allocate DMO team resources, ensuring the provision of a high quality and professional DMO services to all programmes and projects according to both need and priority.
The DMO Team Leader responsible for actively identifying areas for improvement in the programme controls processes and procedures and for recommending changes to the Head of Portfolio Controls, as well as working with colleagues to implement any required changes. The DMO Team Leader is also expected to drive high performance and to foster a culture of inclusion and continuous improvement at all times.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Extensive experience of leading a PMO team in a medium to large organisation.
  • Proven experience of delivering high quality PMO services to large and diverse portfolio of projects and programmes.
  • Experienced people manager with proven experience collaborating with peers and senior managers.
  • Experience of successfully apply a project controls framework
  • Substantial experience in establishing successful, cross-functional, stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience of project management and delivery in Waterfall and Agile environments.
  • Strong understanding of strategic change.
  • Extensive experience of risk management and opportunity exploitation.
  • Strong knowledge of governance frameworks.
  • Experience of business case development and linking programme outcomes to business case benefits.
  • Strong understanding of Programme Change Control and Baseline Management.
  • Strong experience of programme planning and schedule management.
  • Strong experience of financial management and forecasting.
  • Experience of resource and capacity management. Identifying skills gap and taking remedial actions.
  • Demonstrable experience of providing programme assurance and upholding programme management standards.
