As a Delivery Manager within Angstrom's Modelling & Data Engineering team, you will play an integral part by driving the implementation of our product offering and ensuring the business meets client demands with respect to accurate and low latency sports forecasts.


You will use your expertise in delivery management to provide a timely and accurate delivery of Models and Processes within Modelling & Data Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:



Lead cross-functional teams, including Data Science, Software Engineering & Data Engineering, to drive the development and optimisation of Models & Processes within Modelling & Data Engineering. Collaborate with Data Science Leads and Tech Leads to define detailed requirements for our models and to manage timelines effectively from ideation to delivery. Utilise agile methodologies and ceremonies to manage the Modelling & Data Engineering development lifecycle, ensuring agile response to market trends, product feedback, and technological advancements. Act as the primary liaison for Modelling-related communications, engaging with internal stakeholders, external partners, and key customers to gather feedback and drive improvements. Work with the Data Science Leads to define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the models and ensure that the processes are in place to report these back to the Business. Encourage best software development practices with respect to code management and structure. Develop and maintain Modelling & Data Engineering documentation such that new joiners have a smooth onboarding process.


Qualifications



A degree (PhD, MSc, BSc) in a STEM subject or similar provable numerate and quantitative skills Demonstrable over two years' Product and/or Delivery Management experience within the Sports Betting industry, with a solid understanding of sports modelling, odds compilation, and risk management. Excellent presentation, documentation, time management, communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and autonomously. Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic and analytical outlook. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of a typical Back Office Architecture and Modelling in the Sports Betting Industry. Experience using DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps / Jira. Experience with concurrent development source control (GIT). Mathematics skills such as dealing with matrices, probabilities, and statistics. Experience generating reports, dashboards and data visualisations to explain the results and behaviour of models and analyses. Familiarity with SQL and experience working with relational databases. Bonus: A keen interest in American sports. (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAAB, NCAAF, Tennis or Soccer)
