What will you be doing?
Working within our CRM Services team (Salesforce), you will lead two cross-functional engineering teams to deliver and support our CRM platforms using DevOps principles. You will be adept at delivering complex IT change and removing any barriers to delivery to create an environment in which the team can succeed. You will coach team members and facilitate continuous improvement and apply the most appropriate agile and devops techniques for the environment that helps maintain focus on delivering value against the product or transformation vision.
The Delivery Manager will be responsible for all line management aspects of the team and will be experienced in leading and creating high performance and motivated teams, where people are engaged and excited about the outcomes they deliver.
The role will work closely with the Product Ownership teams and relevant business stakeholders to help build roadmaps, ensure they are grounded, and that the vision is understood and shared with the team.
Key points of the role -
DevOps Delivery
The role is accountable for delivering change and products using agile and devops principles through a cross-functional engineering teams. The role will be accountable for the delivery practice, and the quality of the teams outputs and provide quality estimates and forecasts at different stages of the delivery lifecycle. The role will work alongside Product Owners and business stakeholders to ensure roadmaps are grounded and those roadmaps are shared are understood by the team. The role will take on the responsibilities of scrum master. The role will also be responsible for identifying changing capacity and skills requirements for their teams based on roadmaps and planning for those changes in advance to ensure the right team is in place at all times.
Line Management
The role is accountable for the line management of all team members, including contract staff. All team members should have a clearly defined role profile that aligns to their career, regular one on one discussions and clear objectives. Their appraisals should be well grounded and provide behavioral examples of opportunities for improvement. The role is accountable for clearly defining the oversight and mentoring that is required to provide the individual performer with the right environment for them to be successful.
Continuous Improvement
The role is accountable for assuring that the team regularly engage in continuous learning, and that lessons are continually fed back into the team's working practices to ensure that the delivery team performance continually improves. The role will also actively participate in the Delivery Manager community, sharing and re-applying skills and knowledge and bringing in best practice.
Tools and environment
The role is accountable for identifying the necessary tools and environments needed to allow the team to perform at a high standard.
Management Information: The role will be responsible for providing management information on a regular basis that allows the performance of the individual and the team to be monitored against agreed targets and set budgets.
Stakeholder Management: The role will have significant visibility across the organisation and will be required to effectively manage stakeholders at various levels. It will be vital for the role to build strong working relationships with the delivery team's relevant Product Manager or business stakeholder.
What would we like from you?
Scrum Master Certified or relevant working knowledge
Strong technical background in Salesforce and be able understand and challenge plans, design, and issues within technical projects and assess the appropriateness of any approach proposed by the team.
Demonstrable career progression through a hands on engineering career path.
Experience managing multiple engineering teams, Salesforce deliveries along with Change and release management experience in a cloud environment
Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity
Experience of line managing and mentoring technical staff including leading, and coaching cross-functional teams
Experience of senior stakeholder management
Encourage continuous learning, and support with creating high performing and motivated teams.
It would be great if you have the following:
Experience of delivering IT change within a payments processing organization
Salesforce Certifications
Experience delivering change within Microsoft Azure
Azure DevOps knowledge
Familiarity with Product Ownership approaches
