Job summary
His Majesty's Naval Base Clyde (HMNB Clyde) will be the single operational home of the Submarine Service and will become the United Kingdom's Submarine Centre of Excellence. Creating this single integrated operating base is to ensure that the Royal Navy can deliver its operational commitments across all Defence Lines of Development from Scotland on an enduring basis.
To support this transition and future operations, HMNB Clyde is undergoing a high value programme of infrastructure development of >1Bn over the next decade.
The Deputy Head Infrastructure is responsible for delivery of the Clyde Infrastructure Programme and Major Works Programme on behalf of the Naval Base Commander (Clyde) and other Ministry of Defence customers at HMNB Clyde. The post holder is a participant in the development and delivery of major projects working closely with our delivery agents and partners.
This role presents an excellent opportunity for developing an exciting and challenging career within the Civil Service across a broad range of functions and skill sets in direct support of output delivery.
The role is a Reserved Post as they require access to Protectively Marked Information associated with the nuclear weapon and Naval Nuclear Propulsion Programme and therefore restricted to UK National only applicants.

Job description
This position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with good leadership and management skills and an ability to communicate clearly to guide and influence a wide range of stakeholders to support delivery of critical military capabilities in an operational and regulated environment.
As the NBC(C) Infrastructure intelligent customer and interface for project delivery, the role will play a fundamental part on the development and delivery of programmes and projects, supporting the management and integration of delivery through collaborative engagement with HMNB Clyde's delivery partners ensuring infrastructure projects are accurately defined, funded, and delivered.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. This vacancy is using Success Profiles , and will assess your Behaviours and Experience.
It is anticipated that the sift will take place within 5 working days from closing date. Interviews will be held at HM Naval Base Clyde Off Site Centre within 10 working days from the completion of the sift.
There is a reserve list with this advert where candidates who meet the interview criteria may be offered another post in the department should a vacancy arise.
