Duties

Safely operate delivery vehicles, including driver and commercial lorries, ensuring timely deliveries to clients. Load and unload goods, often involving heavy lifting, while adhering to health and safety guidelines. Plan and follow efficient routes to optimise delivery schedules. Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding delivery times and any issues encountered. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and inventory movements. Assist with warehouse organisation, including stock management and order fulfilment. Ensure vehicles are kept clean and well-maintained, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.

Skills

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving commercial driving. Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards within the UK. Experience working in warehouses or logistics environments, with the ability to handle heavy lifting safely. Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients. Organisation skills to plan routes efficiently and manage delivery schedules. Ability to work independently whilst maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism. Valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle type being operated, including driver credentials if applicable.
