Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Van Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely while ensuring excellent communication with both clients and staff members. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and adherence to all driving regulations.

Duties

Prepares van for operation by inspecting general condition; checking fluid levels and tyre pressure; obtaining or scheduling required repairs; validating adherence to roadability standards. Loads van by placing, and securing items, ensuring that all deliveries are handled with care. Delivers items by identifying destinations; establishing most economic route; operating the van; unloading items; maintaining vehicle and delivery schedules. Communicate effectively with clients and company personnel regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Obtains payment by accepting cash, cheques aqnd card payments. Is clean and presentable to the public, wearing a shirt and tie as part of uniform. Maintains safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organisation operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as adhering to driving rules and regulations; cleans van exterior and interior. Maintains accurate delivery, van, and driving records, completing driver log and van performance forms Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
PLEASE NOTE - During preparation of orders or downtime, duties will include other cleaning, maintenance and light butchery duties in the Cardigan shop or Unit.

Requirements

Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience in commercial driving is preferred. OVER 25 Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is advantageous. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and clients. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly when handling deliveries. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as needed.
