Overview

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Van Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high standards of customer service. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to handle heavy lifting as part of daily operations.

Responsibilities

Operate a van to deliver goods to various locations, ensuring adherence to all traffic regulations and safety protocols. Load and unload items, performing heavy lifting as necessary to ensure all deliveries are completed efficiently. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any discrepancies or issues encountered during transport. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and address any concerns. Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any maintenance needs promptly. Assist in warehouse duties when not on the road, including inventory management and organisation of goods.

Requirements

Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience in commercial driving is preferred. Proven experience as a delivery driver or van driver, with knowledge of local routes and traffic patterns. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members and customers. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Familiarity with warehouse operations is an advantage but not essential.
