This is a critical role that supports both supply chain efficiency and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Demand Planning
- Calculate average daily sales per SKU and use this data to plan reorders and stock levels.
Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and sales input.
Inventory & Shipment Planning
- Track products in hand, in production, and in transit; coordinate shipments to meet sales demand with minimal delays.
Monitor inventory levels and adjust forecasts to ensure optimal stock availability while minimising excess inventory.
New Product Sourcing
- Identify and source new products from Chinese suppliers based on competitor analysis and UK market trends.
Supplier Management
- Liaise with factories, negotiate terms, verify quality, and ensure smooth production and logistics timelines.
Sales & Market Monitoring
- Analyse competitor products, pricing, and trends across UK marketplaces (Amazon, Wayfair, The Range, etc.).
Container & ETA Tracking
- Organise shipments by container and timeframe (e.g., early or late month), maintaining clear ETAs and stock arrival plans.
Stock Reporting
- Generate and maintain reports for stock in all stages (in hand, in production, in water) to support purchasing decisions.
Product Research
- Study market gaps and trends to recommend commercially viable new product ideas.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to gather insights that inform demand planning.
Analyse demand patterns and identify opportunities for improvement in forecasting accuracy.
Negotiate with suppliers to secure favourable terms and ensure timely delivery of products.

Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role involving sourcing from China and stock planning for online sales.
Strong Excel skills and experience with stock management platforms (e.g., Linnworks, ERP tools).
Solid understanding of e-commerce operations and sales data analysis.
Excellent communication skills with experience managing supplier relationships in Asia.
Proactive, commercially minded, and highly organised.
