Demand & Supply Planner

Chesterfield, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Demand & Supply Planner

============================

Location:

Solidcor, Chesterfield (On Site)

Type:

Full-time, Permanent

IMPACT EVOLVE are proud to be partnering with Solidcor ,a fast-growth UK fire-door manufacturer strengthening its end-to-end planning capability. We're hiring a Demand & Supply Planner to own the full planning cycle: building a reliable forecast, converting it into a realistic supply plan, and ensuring materials, capacity and production stay aligned.

This is a rare chance to design the entire demand-and-supply rhythm from scratch , creating the tools, cadences and data discipline that will power a scaling manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities

------------------------

Build the End-to-End Planning Engine

Create a weekly demand supply materials action cycle that the business can rely on. Develop monthly forward views for both demand trends and supply/capacity requirements. Build and maintain all core planning templates.

Demand Planning

Own the SKU-level forecast using history, pipeline, seasonality and promotions. Track accuracy and bias; communicate shifts early so supply and production can adjust.

Supply & Materials Planning

Convert the forecast into time-phased supply plans and purchase proposals. Maintain rolling materials coverage, identify shortages early and prevent stockouts. Manage supplier call-offs, confirmations and escalations with clear options.

Production Alignment

Translate demand and supply plans into clear build schedules and material requirements. Support simple staging/WIP controls to maintain accuracy and flow. Run short, focused shortage/expedite huddles to keep production moving.

Process, Data & Inventory Basics

Own essential planning master data (lead times, multiples, suppliers, statuses). Establish simple, reliable inventory practices that feed accurate planning.

Communication & Cadence

Publish a single, agreed weekly plan across Demand, Supply and Operations. Highlight gaps, risks and trade-offs; keep Sales, Ops and the COO aligned on priorities.

Success in the First 6 Months

---------------------------------

A stable demand-and-supply planning rhythm is embedded and trusted. Standard orders consistently hit the 10-day OTIF lead time. Supply plans are realistic, materials visibility is clear, and late changes drop sharply. A rolling 6-month demand outlook and a strong near-term supply view minimise surprises. Supplier performance improves with proactive management. Inventory accuracy increases, supporting better planning and fewer fire-drills.

What We're Looking For

--------------------------

Someone who has built demand and supply planning foundations before -- tools, cadences, templates. Strong end-to-end planning experience in a high-mix, component-heavy manufacturing environment. Able to turn messy data into a clear, joined-up plan across demand, supply and materials. Strong Excel/Sheets capability; comfortable with ERP/MRP but not reliant on systems. Practical, hands-on and confident working across suppliers, production and sales. Clear communicator who can prioritise, push back and make trade-offs visible.

Experience:

4-8+ years in demand, supply or materials planning.

In Return

-------------

Unlimited annual leave Private medical after 3 months Performance bonus The opportunity to build the full demand-and-supply planning function in a scaling operation

IMPACT EVOLVE and Solidcor are committed to building a diverse, inclusive and supportive workplace. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and will make any adjustments needed to ensure a fair and comfortable hiring process
