What you'll do:
+ Plan and deliver dementia-friendly activity sessions across North Tyneside that are fun, engaging, and follow best practice guidelines.
+ Facilitate groups and one-to-one support, helping people living with dementia and their carers access activities and their communities.
+ Provide emotional support and practical advice, signposting to other services where appropriate.
+ Coordinate and supervise volunteers, ensuring activities run smoothly and align with organisational values.
+ Risk assess venues and maintain compliance with Health & Safety and GDPR standards.
+ Monitor and review customer needs, adapting sessions to ensure they remain meaningful and person-centred.
+ Maintain accurate records of attendance and feedback to improve service quality.
+ Network with local agencies, representing Age UK North Tyneside and promoting dementia care skills within the organisation.
+ Support training and development for colleagues and volunteers in dementia care.
+ Assist with triage and assessment, identifying individuals who may benefit from the programme.
What we're looking for:
At least 2 years' experience working with people with dementia and/or their carers.
NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
Strong communication and IT skills.
Training in Cognitive Stimulation Therapy or similar dementia care approaches.
Desirable:
Experience in carer support, person-centred care, and volunteer supervision.
Experience of case management
