To develop and deliver a safe and reliable Dementia befriending and Wellbeing cafes project. Supporting people living with Dementia and the unpaid carer/s throughout Ayrshire.
To promote and support the recruitment and management of volunteers within the cafes across Ayrshire.
To Contribute to the administration, monitoring and evaluation and development of the Dementia Wellbeing Cafes project.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Facilitate and deliver weekly Dementia Wellbeing cafes across Ayrshire.
Recruit and support volunteers for the project. Ensuring you follow AILN's thorough and robust selection process in place for potential befrienders.
Support and train volunteers within their role so that they can offer effective support to the people who use the project.
Develop engaging and varied programmes for each cafes, including educational sessions, therapeutic activities, creative arts, musical engagement and opportunities for Peer support, in conjunction with the Volunteers.
Promote the cafe in the local communities and develop effective marketing and communication strategies to help promotion.
Work with existing staff and external organisations to identify suitable venues, local resources and potential partners.
Forge partnerships with other relevant organisations and invite them along to the cafes.
Create fund raising events
Provide guidance and support to volunteers, overseeing their day-to-day contribution to the delivery of the cafes.
Monitor participation numbers, engagement levels and reported benefits for attendees.
Manage stock levels and request donations from local suppliers, shops etc
Evaluate the overall effectiveness of the service and the outcomes achievable.
Identify risk and ensure appropriate risk assessments are carried out and comply with health and safety requirements.
Attend, arrange and coordinate awareness raising and recruitment events across Ayrshire
To undertake any other duties, appropriate to the post as require by the Dementia Befriending Project Manager/CEO.

Qualifications
Evidence of educational qualifications gained at school, college or university.
Essential Experience of:
Supporting or managing volunteers
Delivering and facilitating groups, workshops or sessions.
IT Confident
Experience/knowledge of working/living with someone living dementia. Working with vulnerable adults
Understanding the need for confidentiality
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Able to set priorities and manage a workload while remaining responsive to the project
Ability to audit and evaluate the service whilst maintaining accurate records and statistics to produce reports for the Project Manager/CEO.
Desirable Experience of:
Experience in community engagement
Experience of developing strong partnerships and join working arrangements with other organisations. Personal experience of volunteering
Skills/Abilities
Excellent telephone, verbal and written communication skills
Excellent listening skills.
Ability to be self-administering in terms of IT, including using Microsoft Office and email systems.
Ability to communicate with people in a sensitive and person-centred manner, including people who require support, carers, other professionals and members of the public
Ability to organise, plan and prioritise own work and meet deadlines whilst remaining responsive to others.
