Overview

Dentistry on the Grove is a state of the art, fully private 5-surgery dental practice on Southbourne Grove.

We are seeking an experienced, skilled Dental Hygienist with strong patient communication skills to join our lovely, supportive team, Tuesdays (9-5pm) and Saturdays (9-1pm). There will be the possibility to pick up another day later in the Autumn, when our new 5th surgery is up and running.

We are a prevention-focussed practice and believe regular hygiene appointments are of the utmost importance in keeping your teeth and gums healthy over the long-term. We encourage our patients to take a long-term view and practice careful and precise oral health cleaning routines.

Our ideal hygienist is calm, organised and approachable, has a track record of delivering good patient outcomes in terms of gum health, whilst building patient's confidence in their oral health routines. Our routine appointments are 30mins long, nurse supported and Air Polishing is a standard feature at the end of every appointment. Our perio appointments include numbing and are 1 hour long.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental check-ups (we have a Denplan Essentials membership plan). Perform periodontal assessments and chart findings accurately. Utilise medical imaging technology to assist in diagnosing dental conditions. Collaborate with dentists to develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment history and progress notes. Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies (we use Exact software) Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
