Union Street Dental Care, Dundee (Private Practice)

is looking to employ a Dental Hygienist to join our well-established private dental practice in Dundee city centre

Condition of employment - you will be required to be registered with the GDC and a obtain a PVG check.

Hours are negotiable but ideally 4 days per week

The salary and days/hours for this position are negotiable to the right candidate

This is a mixed practice (95% PVT), consisting of 3 surgeries, using Exact management system and Ex Pro Digital X-Ray system.

Appointment times are predominantly 30 mins

Responsibilities may include:

Assess oral health needs of patients and their families Explain benefits of preventive care programs Recommend appropriate treatment plans according to patient's specific needs and conditions Take and record patient's medical histories and provide treatment instructions Provide accurate and effective oral hygiene treatment including post-visit instructions Assist patients with oral health maintenance procedures such as tooth cleaning, sealants etc. Consult patients on current medical treatments for teeth and gums Administer injections, prescribed medications Educate patients on oral health care strategies Manage dental emergencies/first aid supplies/materials Manage patient records/preserve treatment progress data to be able to provide complete documentation to the dentist on time. Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications:

Diploma in Dental Hygiene or equivalent:

Consistent computer proficiency required. Knowledge of dental software programs preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
