An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Dental Hygienist to join Godmanchester Dental practice. We have now been established for 4 years and we are expanding. We are a small, independent, private practice with a very supportive team. Our team are passionate about patient care, they are caring, hardworking and support each other in all we do.

Our aim is to provide outstanding customer service and patient care and as you will be responsible for the education and promotion of oral hygiene within our practice, you must be as enthusiastic about this as we are. We are dedicated to supporting you to follow the BSP guidelines for treating patients with periodontal disease

We aim to create an atmosphere of teamwork and respect for each other and our patients so that we may offer the very best level of care.

We are a fully private practice. We have developed a sound patient base of patients who require ongoing hygiene care. We are also still growing and so we are seeing a large number of patients who require debridement and stabilisation of their periodontal condition. We have a passion for treating more anxious patients and are building a reputation for this locally and so have a higher proportion of patients who require extra care and support through their treatment.

About You:

You will be someone who really cares about each patient, the work you do and going above and beyond to make their whole experience as positive as it can be. You will be a great communicator with the ability to quickly build trust and rapport with both patients and the team. You will be willing to spend extra time listening to and getting to know the additional needs of our most anxious patients, tailoring your care to support these. You will be confident in offering high quality hygiene services, as well as understand the importance of building the service. You will have experience of following a presciption from a periodontist and providing root surface debridement. You will be someone who is willing to continue learning and values a good team culture so that together we are able to offer patients the best care. You must strive to maintain a positive environment for both staff and patients. You will maintain an up to date personal development plan.

About the role:

We require a hygienist to work 2 days a week, Monday and Friday 9-5pm. You will work in a brand new fully equipped surgery with full nurse support at all times. We use NSK Varios 2 scaler, Woodpecker U600 piezo scaler, LM diamond hand scalers and airflow.

You will be required to provide the following services.

Full mouth scale and polish Full mouth & quadrant non surgical debridement. Ability to administer local anaesthetic, be confident in giving ID blocks
You will be contracted on a self employed basis at 40% gross earnings. This averages to 65 an hour. Contracted clinical time will be 46 weeks a year.
