Purpose of the Role




The Dental Hygienist/Therapist at our newly opened Manchester Clinic will play a key role in preventive oral care, building patient trust, and reducing dental anxiety. This role supports Truly's high standards of clinical governance while contributing to the growth and reputation of a new flagship clinic.

Main Responsibilities



Perform hygiene treatments: scaling, polishing, airflow, periodontal maintenance, and deep cleaning. Conduct oral health assessments: gum health, risk factors, soft tissue evaluation. Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, nutrition, and prevention of dental disease. Collaborate with dentists and clinical staff to align treatment plans. Ensure accurate patient record-keeping and compliance with governance and safety protocols. Use modern hygiene equipment, ensuring infection control and patient comfort. If Therapist qualified: perform fillings and restorative procedures within scope of practice. Contribute to patient-centered culture, supporting the team in a new clinic environment.

Requirements: Competencies & Skills



Education / Qualifications



Qualified and licensed Dental Hygienist (GDC registration required). Therapist qualification desirable.

Experience



Minimum 2 years of experience preferred. Open to newly graduated candidates with strong adaptability and motivation.

Technical Knowledge & Skills



Proficiency in scaling, polishing, periodontal maintenance, and airflow. Strong understanding of infection control protocols. Knowledge of restorative treatments (if Therapist).

Communication & Interpersonal Skills



Empathy and clarity in patient communication, with ability to support nervous patients. Strong interpersonal skills with team and patients.

Other Competencies



High attention to detail and organizational skills. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as required. Collaborative, team-oriented approach in a small clinic environment.
