Purpose of the Role




The Dental Implant Surgical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting high-quality dental care, with a particular focus on advanced restorative and surgical treatments. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in implant-related procedures and full-arch restorative workflows, while ensuring seamless patient care and operational excellence.


The Dental Implant Surgical Assistant will work closely with senior clinicians and surgeons, combining chairside nursing duties with continuous professional development and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities



Provide chairside assistance during a wide range of dental and surgical procedures. Maintain clinical hygiene and cross-infection control to the highest standards. Prepare and organize materials, instruments, and digital systems for efficient clinical operations. Support restorative and implant-related workflows, including scanning, prosthetic stages, and patient follow-up. Collaborate closely with dentists and specialists, adapting to different working styles and treatment plans. Contribute to the onboarding and training of new dental nurses and trainees. Flexibly support the clinical schedule, including occasional evenings or weekend shifts.

Requirements: Competencies and Skills



Education



Qualified Dental Nurse certification required. Overseas-qualified dentists (not yet registered in the UK/Ireland) are welcome to apply.

Experience



Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical dental setting. Experience in busy, multidisciplinary, or advanced treatment environments preferred. Previous exposure to implantology workflows (e.g., surgical setups, restorative stages, or patient coordination) is highly valued.

Knowledge & Technical Skills



Strong understanding of dental materials, surgical preparation, and infection control. Familiarity with Exact and Dentally software systems. Knowledge of digital dentistry tools, including intraoral scanning and treatment planning. Interest and motivation to develop expertise in implant and restorative dentistry. Strong organizational and adaptability skills. Flexibility to manage rotating shifts and occasional Saturdays.
