Job Title: Dental Lab Assistant

Reports To: Dental Laboratory Manager / Lead Technician

Position Overview



We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Dental Lab Assistant to support daily laboratory operations. This role involves processing incoming orders, preparing digital and physical case materials, operating 3D printers and other production equipment, and ensuring accurate packing and dispatch of completed patient cases. The ideal candidate is organized, tech-savvy, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities



Order Processing & Case Preparation

Receive, review, and enter patient case orders into the lab management system. Prepare digital and physical materials required for each case. Communicate with clinicians or office staff when clarification or additional information is needed.

3D Printing & Production Support



Set up, operate, and maintain 3D printers used for dental models, appliances, and components. Prepare digital files for printing, including model orientation, slicing, and resin/filament selection. Perform post-processing tasks such as washing, curing, trimming, and finishing printed parts. Assist with additional production tasks including, trimming, scanning, or fabrication steps as needed.

Quality Control



Inspect printed and fabricated items for accuracy, defects, or deviations from the prescription. Ensure all components meet established laboratory and industry quality standards.

Packing & Dispatch



Accurately label, package, and prepare completed patient cases for delivery or shipment. Coordinate with internal dispatch systems to ensure timely delivery. Maintain tracking logs and ensure cases are dispatched on schedule.

General Laboratory Duties



Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards throughout the lab. Monitor inventory of materials such as resin, packaging supplies, and tools. Assist team members with other lab processes as required.

Qualifications



Previous dental lab or healthcare-related experience is an advantage (not required; training provided). Familiarity with 3D printing technology (SLA/DLP preferred) is a plus. Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. Basic computer skills; ability to learn lab management software and digital tools. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements



Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Manual handling of small tools and materials. Occasional lifting of packages or materials
