Dental Nurse / Clinic Receptionist
. This dual-role position involves supporting dental clinicians during patient treatments and ensuring the smooth running of front-desk operations of various health services available in the clinic. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for patient care
Duties
:
Clinical (Dental Nurse) :
Assist the dentist during clinical procedures, ensuring efficient workflow and patient comfort.
Prepare and maintain dental instruments, materials, and equipment following infection control and sterilization protocols.
Record and update patient notes accurately and confidentially.
Take and develop dental radiographs (if qualified). Take intra-oral scans.
Ensure surgery rooms are clean, well-stocked, and ready for each patient.
Provide post-treatment instructions and reassurance to patients.
Maintain compliance with all relevant dental and health & safety regulations.
Reception Duties
Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere
Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations using our IT systems
Answer phone calls, chats, emails and respond to enquiries
Maintain accurate patient records, assist with insurance and update information as needed
Assist with patient care coordination by providing relevant information and instructions
Handle administrative tasks such as mails, processing payments, issuing invoices, and managing correspondence
Support the clinical team with organisational tasks to ensure efficient daily operations
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, organised, and welcoming at all times
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
Qualified Dental Nurse with valid GDC registration (or working towards qualification).
Previous experience in dental or medical reception/administration.
Good understanding of dental terminology and procedures.
Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in administrative software (e.g. Word, Excel or similar) and dental software (e.g., Dentally, Pearl Dental or similar).
Comfortable learning new digital systems and about various healthcare services we provide.
Be proactive and curious.
Desirable:
First Aid and Basic Life Support certification.
Experience working in both NHS and private dental settings.
Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality standards (GDPR).
