Scottish Orthodontics is a large company with 9 practices in and around Fife, Edinburgh and Lanarkshire. We are professional, agile, fast-paced and our goal is to provide excellent care to our patients and also to our staff members to progress through their role.

We are expanding our team and we are seeking 1 Qualified Dental Nurse to join our dynamic and friendly Team in our Dunfermline branch, who are passionate about giving our patients the best possible orthodontic experience!

Position:

Orthodontic Dental Nurse

Working Hours:

Full time: 38 hrs/week

Salary:

13.00-15.00 depending upon experience

Experience:



Experience in Orthodontics, preferred but not required as training in all aspects will be given and will be supported by our experienced team members SFD software knowledge desirable but not essential

Qualifications:



GDC registered Radiography certification preferred but not essential

RESPONSIBILITIES



Demonstrate excellent dentistry/orthodontic knowledge and clinical skills. Maintain and ensure patient confidentiality of their notes. Communicate and coordinate with the rest of the team. Demonstrate an understanding of infection control standards. Providing instructions for patients' oral care needs. Work in a fast paced environment.

Duties



Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and ready for use. Provide excellent patient care by reassuring patients, explaining procedures, and addressing any concerns they may have. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols. Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up calls to ensure patient satisfaction and retention. Maintain an organised and clean working environment, including sterilisation of instruments and equipment. Collaborate effectively with other dental team members to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.

Skills



Strong patient care skills with a focus on empathy and understanding. Proficient in English, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues. Background in nursing or relevant healthcare experience is preferred. Basic IT skills for managing patient records and scheduling software. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients and team members alike. Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
