Responsibilities:
Assisting the dentist and hygienist during various procedures.
Preparing and maintaining clinical equipment and instruments for treatment.
Providing chairside support to the dentist/hygienist, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients.
Taking and developing dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
Sterilizing and maintaining dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
Maintaining accurate patient records and treatment notes.
Educating patients about oral health care and post-treatment instructions.
Collaborating with the wider team to ensure smooth workflow and a positive patient experience.
Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and reminders to ensure a smooth patient flow.
Handle patient inquiries and provide information regarding services offered.
Maintain accurate patient records and manage billing processes effectively.
Collaborate with dental staff to ensure optimal patient care and support during treatments.
Utilise IT systems for data entry and management of patient information securely.
Organise the reception area to create a welcoming environment for patients.
Experience
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
Fully qualified and registered Dental Nurse with relevant certifications.
Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
A strong focus on infection control and patient safety.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under the guidance of orthodontists.
Flexible, reliable, and proactive attitude towards work.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and staff professionally.
Proficiency in IT systems and software relevant to dental practice operations is beneficial.
