Job Overview

We are looking for a

Registered Dental Nurse (GDC-registered)

to join our friendly and modern dental practice

3 days per week

. The ideal candidate will be professional, caring, and proactive -- someone who takes pride in supporting patients and the dental team in delivering excellent clinical care. You'll be assisting in a wide range of dental procedures while ensuring patients feel comfortable and well looked after at every stage of their visit.

This role requires sound knowledge of dental procedures, strong communication skills, and a warm, reassuring manner with patients.

Duties

Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and readily available. Provide chairside support to patients, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns they may have during treatment. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans, while ensuring confidentiality is upheld. Sterilise instruments and maintain cleanliness in the treatment area to adhere to health and safety regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote better dental health. Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the practice to optimise efficiency. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth operations and high standards of patient care.

Skills

Strong patient care skills with the ability to empathise with patients and provide reassurance during treatments. Comprehensive knowledge of dental anatomy, procedures, and terminology to assist effectively in various treatments. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and on time. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling clear interaction with patients and team members. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism at all times. Proficiency in using dental equipment and technology relevant to the role.
