The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our dentists during patient treatments, delivering a high standard of patient care, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. The successful candidate will work
three days per week

8:30 am - 5:30 pm

. This position is offered on an
initial three-month temporary basis

for the right candidate. We are flexible regarding specific working days and hours and are happy to discuss arrangements that suit both you and the practice.
Our
patient opening hours
are:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Tuesday: 9:00 am - 8:00 pm
Saturday: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Our modern practice is equipped with
five fully computerised surgeries
--one located on the ground floor and four on the first floor--all operating with
R4+ Software
and
digital imaging technology
. The practice also benefits from a dedicated
decontamination room
situated on the ground floor, ensuring the highest standards of infection control and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide
chairside assistance
to clinicians during a range of dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times.
Act as a
chaperone
for both the clinician and the patient.
Prepare treatment rooms
and
sterilise instruments
in line with infection control and health & safety regulations.
Deliver
pre- and post-treatment care instructions
to patients with empathy and clarity.
Accurately manage patient records
using IT systems, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Support with
administrative and reception duties
, including appointment scheduling and patient communication.
Uphold
infection control standards
, maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic clinical environment.
Communicate effectively
with patients, explaining procedures clearly and addressing any questions or concerns.
Monitor patient wellbeing
throughout treatments, recognising and responding appropriately to any signs of discomfort or adverse reactions.
Confidently use
R4 Dental Software
for clinical and administrative tasks.
Work in accordance with all
practice policies, procedures, and professional standards

Candidate Requirements:
Experience:
Proven experience in patient care within a healthcare or dental setting is desirable.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
IT Skills:
Basic IT proficiency for managing electronic patient records and scheduling systems.
Organisation:
Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Knowledge:
Good understanding of nursing principles and practices relevant to dental care.
Teamwork:
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative when working independently.
Patient Care:
A compassionate and professional attitude with a strong focus on delivering high-quality patient care.
