As a GDC registered dental nurse, your role at Dentistry by Cure Clinics is to provide a calm and comforting experience and champion people's oral health. Alongside traditional nursing duties including chair side support and decontamination deliver innovative duties including radiography, clinical photography, and digital scanning of patient's mouths.
Duties
Build trusting and caring relationships with all patients and take all reasonable steps to ensure their comfort and retain them as a client.
Provide patients with pre and post-operative instructions and information prior to safely discharging the patient following, for example, minor oral surgery, and ensuring the instructions are understood.
To be a team player and contribute positively to communications, from daily huddles to team meetings.
Assisting in the training of trainee dental nurses.
Supporting the Clinical Team in all clinical procedures, providing chairside assistance.
Preparation of filling materials, impression materials, instruments, and equipment.
Undertake clinical photography and intraoral scanning to support patient assessment, treatment planning, and record-keeping in line with practice protocols .
Assisting dental staff with surgical procedures including dental implants.
Ensure the smooth operations of surgeries ensuing efficiency daily.
Assist in managing the appointment book for all clinicians, ensuring that the daily production targets can be met, and the booking system is followed and to ensure a smooth delay free workflow for patients or clinicians.
Coordinate with the laboratory on timely dispatch and receipt of work.
Assist the clinical team and reception team in gaining acceptance for treatment plans from clients and support the practice in gaining testimonials and referrals from clients.
Maintaining impeccable standards of hygiene and cross infection control, according to the latest guidelines, following practice procedures and policy and HTM01-05.
Cleaning away used instruments and materials and keeping the surgery clean and tidy.
To support the dental team when managing medical emergencies
Follow all practice procedures and protocols to maintain patient confidentiality.
At the start and end of the clinical day, ensure the surgery management is adhered to in line with practice procedures and policy.
Ensure that all the relevant paperwork is completed promptly and accurately and that all client records are updated and maintained, according to practice procedures.
Maintain Registration and comply with all GDC requirements.
Always maintain patient confidentiality.
Care and meticulous maintenance of all equipment and promptly report any issues.
Qualifications
GDC registration
Minimum 4 GCSEs (C grade or above)
Level 3 Diploma or equivalent in Dental Nursing.
2 years' experience working as a Dental Nurse is desirable, however we will consider recently qualified dental nurses with relevant work experience.
